I don't know anything about an Aerostar, but an AWD TC should mean that there is no wiring. AWD is achieved with a viscous coupling , not with a shift motor or electric internal clutch.

The Explorers and other SUV's have optional switched TC's, with A4WD. Good luck,

What year is your Aerostar? My manual says that the E-4WD transfer case (model TC-28) has an electronic module which controls the internal electromagnetic clutch, and the self diagnostic indicator system.

Hello

Its a 94 4.0l auto AWD.

Hello

What I want to do is test all the plugs that goto the tc. The 4wd is always engaged and its a pig on gas.

Hello

Ok how do I test it. Please point me in the right direction to test it.

It should not always be engaged unless there is a short. Unplug the electromagnetic clutch, and see if there is power at the connector. It shouldn't have power unless the module gets a signal from external sensors to apply the clutch.

I just came across this article: http://autorepair.about.com/library/faqs/bl767d.htm. This is a wiring diagram:
