WITH PICS: 3"BL, TT, Shackles, AAL & + Need tires! Which size max for EB97? Plz help

ok thanks, I will do some search for that.

I am still not sure about the model. I really like the aggressive look too.
Does anyone tried the Mickey Thomson Baja Radial MTZ? Just wondering how good they do on ice, and how long would they last.

I also really like the look of the Toyo Open Country. Any feedbacks about those? they are pretty pricy

The Super Swamper Trxus MT looks also really nice and are suppose to handle great on ice.

They only do that size in the E load range.
Would that still work on my explorer, or its too heavy?

I was able to get the BG AT in D load range.
The Trxus just look so much meaner.

E range tires are heavy sidewalls, high load rating. They will work but will be a stiff ride. Mine are D range and I can feel it, but its not too bad. I love my BFG's though- quiet on the highway and decent off road.

If you want a true locker go with a Detriot locker. Just be warned if driving in two wheel only it will be squirly in the rain & snow. Alot of people here like the Ausie locker. I'm not familiar with them however.

Another alternative is a Detroit True Trac. It is a limited slip, but instaed of clutches it uses helical gears. This way you do not have to worry about friction modifyers and clutches burnig up.

ok thanks for all the help
I choosed to go with the BFG All Terrain Load Range D
I did some research and found out that the Trxus are wearing out much quicker than the BFG and I heard they are often hard to balance and bad for highway.

I will go 285/75R16 as suggested. I will post pic when they will be installed next week.

thanks!

Hello guys,
here is my bad boy:

Finally they are on. It drives really nice, not noisy and not too stiff even if its a D load range.

I am running 285/75R16 and with the mods I have I do not rub at all. No trimming required, this is the best rig for me. It looks pretty sweet and should handle good for this winter.

Just need to get my safari rack now, with 4 more hella and a full size spare on the roof ;)

thanks for all your help

BTW it was intentionnally to put the black side, I do not like the white letters, they look good for a while, then they get more ugly and dirty with time. I think the black look is nice with the rest of the truck. I was gonna put them on my Eagle chrome wheels, but decided to wait until spring. So these stocker will do the job for now!

I generally don't like the newer models, but I gotta say yours looks great. Good job on it, and those tires wont dissapoint you.
