I turned my key and all it was doing was cranking and trying to start. Kept turning the key and tapped some gas into it but once you stop giving it gas, the engine dies. Then my Dad turned it and kept revving it to 3000rpm's or so until it could finally keep an idle state. Did it just need to warm up? It's not even close to cold here in Texas for it to not be able to start.
Went to o-reily auto parts and borrowed their scanner. Wasn't putting out any codes. Guy said it could be my throttle sensor is failing on me. Could just be off place or something. Possibility he says. I wouldn't know though.
This is the second time this has happened. Last was maybe month or 2 ago.
I'm just wondering if it's an issue that should be looked at more closely?

How many miles are on it? It might be a simple as replacing the fuel filter.

About 81 thousand. We actually tried doing so this year but we couldn't get the old one off somehow. But you're right I think it should be changed out too.

Could be the IAC, Idle Air Control valve going bad.

You need a ford fuel line tool to change the filter. They are about $5 at auto stores. Do a search on 'remove fuel filter' for more info on how to do it.
