wrong muffler size??

Hey, I remembered reading that the pipe sizing on the explorers was 2 1/4" dual in when I was shopping for a magnaflow, but I decided to check out anyways to make sure, and turns out its only 2" in, 2" out and the muffler and piping look factory, was the dual in, single out an option? I'd imagine that only 2" piping single in/out would be quite restrictive...

my 98 xlt is dual in single out..dont know what size, but its stock. dont know about options, i bought it used. so what'd you do with it?

I bought this one used as well and its the first time I've looked at the muffler, and measured it (outside diameter) as 2" single in/out, but it looks like a factory muffler, fitting perfectly in the protective skid plate. i'm planning on adapting 2 1/4 in 2.5 out
