X24 Bit The Dust

Unless I'm heavily compensated for my lost time at work, aggravation and other losses, I'll push and push to have them buy my X for book value. The only problem with that is it's not exactly a stock X. I'll part out a lot of the stuff I can take off it that I still have the stock replacements for, but there's a lot of stuff that can't be undone. I've had it for almost 3 years which is the longest I've had a vehicle for. It's time for a change... I need a V8 under the hood of whatever I get next... I think I deserve one. ;)

I have an extended warranty that runs up in approx. 17 months or 20K miles that will no longer offer me warranty coverage on a new engine that is replaced by Ford. I understand their reasoning behind that, but I need to be compensated by Ford for that as well. I paid for a warranty that is now void because of Miracle Ford. The new engine better come with a warranty for at least the remainder of my other one. My lawyer is aware of this as well.

I'm still too young for a caddy. If things don't work out with the X and I get rid of it, I will be on the lookout for a Durango R/T. :D

And then you'll be complaining about a tranny  ;)

OMG i would be so pissed!! Im glad you are a much cooler tempered man than I.

Yeah, I dont usually blow my top. I'll just stay cool and let things play out. In this case it worked out good because Miracle Ford has NOTHING on me.

Just wanted to bump this up to get the word out about my dealership. Never know who might read it...

My lawyer is working some magic. He should be calling me in the next few days.

Good luck!!!!

(you're not REALLY gonna get a Durango, are you?? Can you say 'way too heavy to be quick'?!) :(

Atleast someone else was at fault for yours.. I just blew my own :(

If you have it documented this well call your local chapter of the Better Business Beaueau and threaten arbitration.

I f*^ing can't STAND dealerships that pull this sh*t.
GO AFTER THEM.. HARD :frustrate

Sorry to hear you went through all that crap. But it should all work out in the end hopefully.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking. You would be better off with a new durango with the hemi. That is if you can freakin afford the thing.

Sorry about the X man. I would have punched the service manager in the Face for putzing around so much:D. Hope u get the ole' SOHC fixed. We have had are ups and downs with the motor but i wouldnt trade it for anything.

so whats going on with this..get any news from the lawyer yet?

From the sounds of it its a Miracle they're still in buisness. We had a Ford dealership like that around here, Flannery Ford. Luckily they were bought out by a auto dealer group and now things are ALOT, better. But I hear all of you about dealerships. Just a quick story that might make you feel a little better about your situation.
I worked for a Olds, GMC dealership. Al Dittrichs when I was 18 and one guy there special ordered a truck. Z-71 package, all the bells and whistles. It came in after a five month wait. He drove it 50 miles and the engine sized. Showed back up the afternoon he recieved it on a flatbed. Hope this helps.

I feel your pain... Atleast the job they were doing allowed them to come up with 'reasonable' lies to tell you. ie. the engine needing to be pulled, the Insurence company called... etc etc I dont want to hi jack your thread, but I have a post about getting my alignment + camber kit done at a local ford dealer.

2.5 days, and they had JUST(watched them drive it in) gotten it on the rack at the time I told them it HAD to be done by(well, 2.5 days later then my original time given...) This forced me to drive an 800 mile trip with my crappy alignment from lowering... Those 800 miles basically wore 50% of the tread away on my brand new wheels. Oh, and then they forgot to put the shrouds that seperate the engine bay from the wheel wells back in. I called 'em up 2 weeks later when I went to install the cam kit myself and actually noticed them missings and they still had them. Picked them up and they were COVERED in motor oil/coolant/you name it. I had to ask them for a plastic bag to put them in. The guy tried to offer me a 10% discount to come back... 10% on a $40 alignment job? They made me ruin $300 in rubber.... Atleast the back two wheels were ok =/

In my opinion, dealerships are just as bad(even worse) when it comes to ripping people off as your local joe shmoe auto repair shop. They just have a lot of brand spank'n new cars parked around them at all times to make them seem better. Sorry if I went on too long about my no-so-important-as-yours-incident. I hope you get the Ex back w/ a new hunk of metal under the hood =)

Any updates? Too bad you dont live closer... I'd be up for a protest :D :burnout:

Cj, I told my boss the shortened version of your story yesterday... His reply?

"Tell your friend to sue their @$$es off! No Ford dealer that treats a customer or a product with such disrepsect deserves to have a Ford license!!"

Not all dealers are bad ;)

Well, here's the problem with that... I CANT FIND A LAWYER THAT WILL DO IT! All the lawyers around here only want personal injury. I've been on the phone everyday with different firms and I havn't really had any luck.

Good luck finding a lawyer. I have a feeling justice will be served adventually. :)

reminds me of my old S-10 i used to have
it was a 96, 4-cyl auto with an extended warranty. At 43,000 miles, it started to knock real bad. So i brought it in, and they bored out one piston, and gave me the motor back with no nock. 3 miles down the road the new piston was sitting in the oil pan. so, i got a new engine, and 25 miles down the road i was calling AAA to get it towed back to the dealer.
4 motors, 2 trannies, and a rear end later, it was all fixed.
then a bal joint went going around a corner, wheel broke off, and i hit an oak tree at 45.

actually tho, the chevrolet warranty people and the dealer were all nice guys. they did crappy work, but they did it with a smile on their faces! they didnt mind putting over 12k into a truck worth 8 k in under 4 months one bit!

good luck man, hope everything works out for ya. atleast you still get to drive the 966 every day!

(by the way, im running a 980F series 2 now)

It might be worth your while to get someone else to look at it. Another mechanic from a shop you can trust and see if he can give a diagnosis of what's wrong and why the engine went. And then maybe even go to a second mechanic. Try to get the same diagnosis twice. It will give you more ammunition if you can ever find a lawyer. Then you should be able to get the money back for having somone else look at it.

That really sucks though, the dealership around Fort Collins, CO is really good and I've never had any problems with them yet and hopefully I won't.
