I am putting a 4" susp. lift and a 3" BL on my X and was planning on putting a set of 33's on it. Could I put a set of 35's on instead? keeping the same lift

35's will destroy the front end of your truck. The TTB isn't strong enough for 35 unless they never ever leave the pavement, and are driven like Miss Daisy. What gear ratio do you have? Even with the lowest stock gear's 35 is too tall.

It should be alright, there are people that ran 36" swampers at most of the hard trails on tellico and didnt break, I think he should be fine with 35s. Also, you will have to re-gear for 35s, so plan on aronther 1000 or so to put in to the truck.

Okay I am still new to 4x4's this is my first. what is a TTB?

That is the type of front end that you have. Twin Tracion Beam, it is a form of IFS. It is generally thought of the be a bit stronger than the post 94 SLA IFS. You should be fine in gwinnett also, there is no where at all to wheel unless you head to tellico or some of the other north Ga, tennesee trails.

TTB work just fine with 35s. I had mine for 3 years and beat the **** out of it. Just make sure if you do run the 35s you regear it. You'll burn out the tranny if you don't. 35s with fit fine under 7" lift, you might have to trim and bang some but not a whole lot. I had a 4" on mine and before anyone says it, I had the 35s on there before I got the fenders.

How much mileage do you put on it in a year? Have you replaced anything in the front end?

It was my daily driver and I put about 15,000 a year and have not replaced anything in the front end. There are plenty of people running 35s on the TTB with no problems.

Cool I have been looking for some 35's and found that they are generally 8 bucks more. Right now the four wheel drive does not work, that is why I am waiting untill taxes get back. I think it will look good. Fenderguy might be a dumb ? but where did you get your fenders? They dont look stock

I got them from Perry's Fab 'n Fiber. I believe they are a 6" pull on the front fenders and the rear is 5" or 6" as well. I think they give a little bit of a discount if you tell them you are a member of this website. Good luck with whatever you decide to do with the Explorer. :chug:

Thank you for all the help.
