If you dont have satellite radio yet your missing the boat!!!After having it for about 4 mos. i could never live without it!! I have XM but you could also sign up for sirius but at about 3.00$ more per month i really like my XM!!
go to your local best buy or circuit city and get it...starts at 150.00$ for the fm modulated unit not including install however they sometimes run free install specials.
the monthly cost for XM is 9.95$ per month...pay every 3 mos.. the sound quality is 10 times better than radio and the choices are almost endless.
i am not a sales rep i just love it and recommend it!!!
over 100 channels of digital music, news, sports, weather ,talk, kids stuff everything!!!!

yeah but I dont need weather, kids stuff, etc.....
thats why I skipped the XM, Sirrus and got one of these..........

www.phatnoise.com (I got the Kenwood Excelon Keg)

40 GIGS of MP3's in my truck, portable, and on the PC.
Now I need one for the boat.....

It allows me to have 40 gigs of MP3's on a small little disk that I can take inside, plug into the computer and add new songs, delete old ones, whatever...........

The head unit thinks it is a 999 disc CD changer with up to 10,000 songs on each disc........each song has a name, or tag so you can easily see what you are listening too.......

Nothing like having the entire beatles catalog, Elvis Presley, all of Led Zep, Floyd, Depeche Mode, Paul Oakenfold, Tupac, (you name it) at your fingertips........

I have used up 11 GIGs so far, my entire music collection (MP3) and I have 29 more to go before it is full......

:)

kegs are a great addition to sat. radio...sometimes i just wanna hear the news updates or weather or if you like nascar...all the races are on XM!!!!
being a bucs fan in CT i dont get enough sports news...with fox sports espn news ans sporting news radio...i get tons o sports!!!

Never tried sattalite radio... but GO BUCS! :D

I agree its a great idea, and perfect for most people, just me personally I hate radio enough already (local) so I cant imagine liking that stuff.................

I am waiting for the day when I can get INTERNET radio in my truck, of course I know I could now with a wireless net connection and a laptop interfeced into my truck stereo, but I am talking about reasonable live stream from stations like grooveradio.com and trustthedj.com into my speakers. :)

I just cant see paying the monthly charge...........

They had a Ski Moomba at the boat show with a full Kenwood system in it including a keg and sirrus, now when I am out in the middle of lake POwell I can think of nothing sweeter then having that setup!!!!

So you are right, XM/Sirrus is sweet, Music Keg is sweet, together they would be even SWEETER!!!! Now if you could just recodr the radio right to MP3, right there in your truck, we would really be set!!!!

What unit did you get? Any pics of the install?

Thanks....

I GOT THE PIONEER FM MODULATED UNIT...SMALL DISPLAY SCREEN MOUNTED IN THE CONSOLE(SMALL EMPTY SQUARE SHAPED AREA BELOW THE SPRING LOADED CHANGE HOLDERS...FITS PERFECT!!!
I HAVE TO GET A DIGITAL CAMERA SOON!!!...WOULD LIKE TO FLUSH MOUNT IT IN THE STEERING WHEEL!!!

And remember........Playboy now has an XM station, so you can listen to soft **** all day.

It costs extra also :p

ONE OF THE BEST FEATURES OF SATELLITE RADIO IS THE 30 COMMERCIAL FREE MUSIC CHANNELS!!!
THE WORST THING ABOUT FM IS THE ENDLESS COMMERCIALS!!!! IF YOU LIKE TALK RADIO NO MORE POOR RECEPTION FROM AM STATIONS!!!
TOO COOL...I WILL PAY 9.95$ PER MONTH FOR THAT!!!
HEY NOBODY HAS REPLIED TO MY OTHER THREAD SO I WILL ASK IT HERE...WHAT KIND OF FRONT AXLE DO I HAVE ON MY 93 EXPLORER 4X4???

WENT OUT TO THE PORCH TO GET THE BOX...IT IS A PIONEER GEX-FM903XM...SMALL FOOTPRINT...CONTROLLER IS ABOUT THE SIZE OF A DISC CHANGER CONTROL MODULE FOR AN FM MODULATED UNIT BUT A LITTLE SMALLER...THE TUNER BOX IS ABOUT 3/4 OF AN INCH TALL AND 5X8 L AND W

d35 TTB 3.73 I believe.

And now I want to spend more money I don't have to buy sat. radio.:( j/k

THANKS FOR THE AXLE INFO...DANA 35...LOCKER IS COMIN NEXT!!! OR ACTUALLY A CENTERFORCE CLUTCH
THEN A FRONT LOCKER!!!

I DONT REALLY HAVE THE MONEY FOR HALF THE STUFF I BUY EITHER...LOL!!!
ASK MY VERY FRUSTRATED WIFE!!!LMFAO!!!

Friendly bucs fan reminder... that capslock key should be off! Thanks!
-----Nate (GO BUCS!)

sooo weird....like 78 pages of microsoft pages filled my computer...i couldnt delete all of them they kept coming back!!!!would be funny if it was all because of me using caps...like a guerilla tactic for rude computer users!!!
lol

I cant understand why you would pay for digital music and then use a FM modulator which converts the signal to analog?????

at the time...i could not afford the head unit...whats good about the system is that when i can...i just unplug the modulator and plug into the new head unit...and i beg to differ...for the choices i have for music and everything else...i would pay 19.95!!!besides the sound quality is still ten times better than fm!!!!the frequency range is still much wider...you have t turn your bass down!!!!
