I am new to Explorers and this site, hopefully I do this right.
I have an 03, Explorer with a 4.6, and need an engine replacement (serious lower end noise). I have found a 2006 4.6 with low miles from a rolled car. Is there any way to make the engine and transmission work from the 2006? If not the engine and transmission, will the engine work if I treat it as a longblock. I would prefer an option with minimal modificatiions. Do longblocks from F-150,s and Mustangs work, or only blocks from Explorers and Mountaineers.
