My wife and I bought our 2017 Explorer sport in magnetic gray (beautiful color) about 5 months ago and I’ve just started working on changing up a few things.
Wanted to introduce myself and familiarize myself with the forum since I’ll be here often enough for more information and write-ups on how to do certain things. (I’m a Subaru technician and anything not horizontally opposed has me a little confused so bear with me lol!)
So far we’ve done:
•Limo tint with 65% on the windshield
•Overlays (custom stainless steel from a friend who owns a wrap shop)
•I installed PowerStop drilled and slotted rotors with pads when I noticed the rotors warped from not being able to dissipate heat quick enough. (Inb4 “yOuR rOtoRS aRe GoNNA cRaCk” lol. Yes we know. Yes we can afford many more. Not a problem.)
•Used Caliper paint to go red on the calipers. (Just until I can find brembos)
Gripes:
•The footbrake stuck one day and ford just took the cables to it out. It’s still stuck to the floor lol
•Boost cuts off pretty early unless you’re in manual mode
•Altima’s are beating me.
Aside from that this is a beautiful vehicle that I intend on making even more beautiful. I can’t wait to see what kind of helpful information I’ll find and whatnot in this group.
While I’m here I need to find the following:
•Oil Catch can
•bigger intercooler/more efficient intercooler
•Tuner
•Pretty exterior mods
•cold air intake to pull in more air
•possibly better injectors
•really want a flex fuel kit
•”Supporting” bolt ons. (I heard I may need MAF chips, and a few other things.)
