i have a 98 explorer with the 4.0 4wd what would i have to get extra to put a 2wd trans in it:navajo:

Do a full teardown and swap the output shaft and extension housing.

Why would you want to do that?
Given the trouble it would be, why don't you just leave it in 2wd?

Why dont you just pull the front driveshaft?
