i have an '02 explorer 2 door. i have on ampunder my center console and one in the trunk. one is a 0g and the other is a 4g. Where would be the shortest distance to ground these? it seems that when i pull the carpet up there will be 2 thin layers of metal so it does not seem like they r good grounding spots. can u help me find exactly where to ground these?

Ground them to any body sheet metal. body sheet metal is an excellent ground and will have far less resistance than even 4 gauge wire. it is a lot of metal, and will work very well. short ground cables to nearest convenient gounding spots (you can use seat-bracket bolts etc)

I was gonna say basically the same thing, seat bolts are good too...
