BMXking's Axle Swap 1st gen. Coils/Radius Arms!!!

Thanks. I have AAL in the rear and had planned on pulling them out to flex better. Turned out, the max that they'd flex out was when the leaf spring was completely flat, so I decided to keep them in there to prevent it from ever getting negative arch.

I installed my new Rancho RS9000x's up front tonight. Drives like a completely different truck now. Well worth the little bit of money I spent.

What kinda AAL did you use? I don't want more lift but would like to avoid neg arch in the leafs.

You could do it the right way and put in a bump stop

Yeah, I only left it as is cause I didn't have to do any more work in the rear. In your case you should build a bump stop bracket and get some longer bump stops. The AAL was out of the 2" Skyjacker kit tho.

Hey, How did you modify the cage radius arm mounts to fit on the angled frame. I read through your thread a couple of times and all I see is that you off one side of the bracket, but that wouldn't make up for the angle on the frame.

I used pinion angle leaf spring shims and drilled them to match the side of the CAGE brackets.

what degree of a shim was it?

6 I think

alright thanks man

Man, it's been a while since I've been on here. Quick update. I've got a Kicker 15 in it getting pushed by a 1000w MTX amp. Then the transmission went out again a year to the day it previously went out, so I rebuilt it myself this time (2nd gear took out counter shaft and some other stuff). Got it back driving again around New Years with a Spec Clutch in it. Also, I got another car now so this thing is just a trail rig finally!!!!! I finally put in 4.88 Yukons up front so the 4x4 is finally in action. I rebuilt my track bar with .25 wall DOM and reinforced the track bar mount as well. Since it's not the daily driver anymore, I'm thinking about putting a full spool in it as well, but I'm haven't decided yet.

4.88's work good, i wana do that or 4.56s, but ill prob never have tires bigger then 37's

Just stretched my front axle another 2.5" forward. Went ahead and rebuilt and weld my coil buckets to the bucket spacers and still kept the buckets bolt on. I welded the bucket forward on the driver side bucket spacer so I didn't have to worry about the weird bend in the frame for the steering box. Also built a new transmission/radius arm crossmember. I used 3"x3"x.25" steel tubing and notched it out for the t-case and built the radius arm mounts into it. Here's some pics.

more pics. i also stripped out my interior and i'm about to have the floor line-xed. Here's the new daily driver too. I stripped all the parts off of a car that we were about to crush at one of our car shows, so it was all free. Only got $1000 in it for the car. It's got a 2" drop, Toyo tires, new wheels, intake, exhaust, tune up, headunit and speakers, 2 rockford 12s and jbl amp.
