Battery is good

Blacking out...

The heat resistant paint was applied first; the washer box will be sealed; the lip will be blacked out tomoro - another coat of high heat will be applied (some areas freaked out).

Scotty

ha! thanks :) the bumpers will be carved up on monday and we'll see what happens from there...

Quick Question

I was wondering if with the bull bar u have if u lost your tow hooks?

thanks
Eric

That's where tow hooks would go, but mine didn't come with them...

Do you know of any that allow you to keep your factory tow hooks or one that has aftermarket tow hooks built in.

thanks
eric

From the way this one is installed, you could probably have those horseshoe type tow hooks installed right between the bullbar and frame next to where that hook is hanging down....or even on the sides....

Tow hook area...

I'm blacking out the lip on this thing, but got a little nervous. Have to add another coat tomoro - Directly through those slots, you could add tow hooks that would be unseen.

Right on! The cable runs around the bumper, through the wheel, around the tire brace; and is locked with a big 'ol Master lock. If the oem cable snaps, the tire will fall sideways, but should stay with the vehicle.:thumbsup:

Just a thought on how you have the extra safety cable on the spare--you say master lock...you might want to switch that out with something you don't need a key for. I could see problems for when you need the spare, realizing the key is nowhere to be found.

Or, at least make sure the key is in an easily accessible yet secure place on the vehicle..you know, somewhere where it won't walk off or accidentally get misplaced.

Very true... but if I really got stuck, and needed the tire, I would sharpen the edge of a speaker and cut right through the cable. Also, the lock is what would jam in the rim, and hopefully keep the tire with the vehicle...

Maybe a trip to your local lifting equipment store might show you somehting you could use instead, maybe a long eye bolt
Scotty

Jam in the rim?

Isn't it just looped around one of the spokes? That's how I thought it had been on

No projectiles...

If that came apart it could really do harm to someone... thought about something like that tho...

The two eye holes and the lock are now jammed on one side of the oem rim... it actually now goes around the upper bracket, through one opening and jams in the other...

They are available in strengths sufficent to dangle your X from a tree as in one of my favourite movies "the gods must be crazy." far superior to the OEM hooks
Scotty

It's that cable Ford uses that I don't trust.... it can only withstand so much, that's why I'd like to have it in the cargo area instead and seal up the spare area...

couple pics

got the plating back, so now the work begins... needs to be painted and the stripping needs to be glued on... the front bumper is coming together, i'm getting a skid plate for it... dang, i'm tired of the wait.

that back plate will be bolted into the body to keep the bumper pad in place..

:D the stock fogs will be relocated to the inside of the KC housing and bolted to the vehicle... this is the fun part.
