BD's 2000 Explorer Limited

It's another one of those days where I would just rather start fresh. I couldn't get mine sanded well enough for all the little imperfections to not be seen, so I did a layer of fiberglass, and that's just really being a pain in the ass. I figure 200$ is cheap for a new rear bumper specially if it were already chrome so I wouldnt have to work on it. How much do you guys think a shop would charge to paint it? I would prefer doing it myself, but I cannot for the life of me, find a store that sells WF code paint.

Oh and Brad...that sounds like a good plan, text me, typing on here is a PITA on my phone. It's real laggy on EF for some reason.

I'll text you later during my lunch or something since I know you were working all night, lol.

Is it creepy that I know this much about you, and never met you. Yes. Yes it is. lol.

:shifty_ey

:help:!

...Its also creepy that you type out a question, and then answer it yourself...in the same post...

Brian- have you called FinishMaster and ask them how much to mix it? That's where the body shop would probably get it from anyhow...

No man, never heard of them...

Cool man, thanksith!

:D

Oh- Update about my door, I had a few minutes to mess around with it today, and remebered that my doors are Dynamatted now :@

Ill just have to redo a section, I still have half a roll in the backroom. (Needless to say, I didnt have time to rip all that off to try to get to it.)

And RockAuto emailed me back, that bumper I linked, IS black, not chrome/chrome plated.

Alright, well I'm still waitin on a response from Mickey from Glens car and truck. So who knows. Maybe get the black one and get it painted, I think even a Maaco can't #### it up too bad...

Wow, it was great this morning, I actually had to kick the heat on for a little bit when I was taking my gf to work! Im so ready for Fall/Winter!

I also fixed my radar detector and volt gauge, found a little fuse that was blown for the radar (I thought it had just died after 4 years of use for some reason:dunno:), and my volt gauge had wiggled one of the connections loose.

I got these in the mail too :D

That reflectors gotta go...

Sweet!

My projectors should be here tomorrow!

Im hoping despite the terrible labor intense pictures ive seen of the couple Explorers who've done the FX-R's, that I can get this done in under a week.

Remember if you do buy a new bumper, you only get the shell. You have to buy the brackets and the reinforcement plate for the hitch part separately which adds up quick. I was able to salvage mine but not without destroying the old bumper in the process, and I still needed all new hardware.

My innards of mine are fine, just some surface rust, so I "should" be able to use them.

Thanks for that tip though, I never thought of that. I swear im about to slap it back on as-is! :p:

keep up the good work brian

Thanks Sam!

Well naturally I have to work today, and the projectors are supposed to be here today. I work at 1, usually the mail runs around 12, but of course not today! Its 12:40 im really cutting it close but I dont want to have to drive out to the post office tomorrow to pick them up (If they need delivery confirmation)

I did get the headlights baked open though finally. It took me multiple days working on the first one, I kept getting pissed and stopping, (Didnt have the oven hot enough), but the 2nd headlight only took me a matter of <10 minutes.

(I was putting the first one in on 300, for about 4-5 minutes, made a little progress, but it was cooling down way to fast to work with, after I turned it to 310, and left them in there for about 10 minutes, they came right apart!

Took the little refractor out

These puppies are screaming for projectors!

I wanna do something cool with some LEDs also, but im still thinking, I have quite a few ideas...

They're here! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D
