Some pics and an update.

Well i think im going to go ahead and call it, I have been saving up to buy a m50d. The closest one is in jacksonville for 350$ other than that i have been doing body work, such as shaving the tail gate, and Welding up the roof rack holes... Here are some pics

Well i have finally finished shaving the tailgate on my explorer.

had to weld a bolt on, so i could tighten the bumper down. I need to re make my mounts lol. the old ones rusted away so i made my own.

But other than that just some rust repair on one of the dog legs. still saving up for a new trans.

About to park mine some time next month for some long awaited new parts and proper alignment. Perhaps some other things depending how high my garage door is, forgot to measure it but still painting. Moving in next weekend.

heres a list of things it needs:

fuel pump: 25$

intake gasket set :30$

Egr :35$

Iac: 30$

a4ld trans: 375$

Im planning to Take 2 a4lds and make one good trans out of it.

Well a bit of an update, Found a crap load of stuff wrong with the engine, SPark plugs on one side were loose, multiple vacuum leaks, No egr gasket, No IAC gasket intake gaskets were brittle, Coolant leak caused by a hose missing a clamp. and a few loose intake studs. most of the O rings on the fuel injectors were cracked and causing leaks. I have most of this fixed. As soon as i get some new O rings i can put this motor back together.

Well I saw a "1994 explorer for parts" on craigslist the other day and i called the guy up and it turned out to be a 1993 Mazda Navajo.

I bought the tranny cooler, and the really rare tailights for 30$

and some other misc things That Navajo is going to be crushed in a week or
so.


but he said any little thing i wanted off it to just take it. so i did:

I already installed the tranny cooler along with my stock one, and here are those navajo tails on my explorer.

I dont have a picture, but i already got that grey trim shiny again.

one more thing. The engine is All back together just need a fuel pump to see if it runs. HOPEFULLY ill have this thing on the road a little after christmas.

I like the hitch delete from the bumper kinda gives it a roll pan effect.

Didn't look like there was much on the parts truck to grab up.

that parts truck only has front end damage. He said the trans only had 10,00 miles on it and it was brand new he wants 200 bucks for it I wish i had 200. and yeah there wasnt much good on it either. two windows were busted and the sunroof was up. so yeah the interior wasnt great lol.

cool cheap build man. I bought my 92 for $300. I have $850 into it now with new heads, gaskets, PM items, etc including purchase price. 1000 is my absolute limit I figure thats what I could sell it for.

thanks man, the truck was 500$ plus 100 to get it road legal (which it still is)
and i got about 400 or so of my own money into it. so im right at a grand. Ill tip that when i buy a new trans to put into it. I dont plan on selling it as it was a gift from my parents. So it has a lot of sentimental value.

And last but not least, and most recent haha. I pulled the back part of the exhaust off. Had to cut the bolts because they were so rusted.. and the flange was rusted off.... I welded it back on. And this is what i want to do with the exhaust tip:

Other things i have done are... Install a 2nd trannie cooler, and Put new fuel injector gaskets, and intake gaskets on the intake. I still need a fuel pump and trans.

My only question is where did you get the new panel pins at?

By that I mean the little plastic pins that hold the interior panels to the truck.

I have tried to get a few at local parts stores, but they weren't the right ones.

there were some pins still stuck to the body after i pulled the bottom trim off, so i used those.

So i ordered a new fuel pump wed on ebay... got here today and installed...

Im going to try to start my explorer tomorrow. It hasnt been started or moved since may. Now i just need a transmission lol

It runs!

So today i got some gas in it and primed it by turning the key to on and there was a really bad fuel leak from the FPR and i bought a new o ring and got it to start! i dont have the muffler hooked up so it was really loud that i scared some of the neighborhood kids lol.
