great......this is making me want to get off my ass, and start figuring out the setup that i got off don.
and andy, yup, makes us look a tad sheepish.....
You might wanna get your tubes wielded on your rear, when you start launching that hard on an 8.8 the plug wields pop and the tubes will get misaligned and if unnoticed bearings breaks shafts ect all domino to destruction, my buddies 03 cobra that had been converted to solid rear with c clip Eliminators did just that, then his brothers 04 saleen mustang did almost the same but it caused him to snap a shaft,
I can try to get my buddy to take a pick when he gets home , what we ended up doing was crude, one of the guys milled some billit into blanks that we put in place of the carrier berrings and axle berrings then we found a stainless rod about 1 1/2" and threaded and slid it all the way through, homemade alignment tool, then after he ( my buddy is a pipefitter) spent hours checking for trueness wielded the tubes to the housing with nickle rod,
holy crap.... this thing basically makes mine look like I'm "playing" around! You have no idea how amazed I am that you pulled the tires off the ground, even with it being a sport.. It's a good thing you have a picture of it because I don't think anyone would have believed you otherwise!
I think you are proving to all of us how important it is to intercool these things.
What size tires and type are you running now??what air pressure do you run at the track and do you juice the tires at all? Love the pic though![]()

Seriously, it makes me want to begin phase 2 of my project, but then again I remind myself how much that will cost and I start to cool off again. haha

The tires are still 255 70 16 Goodyear (worked for them for 16 years before I started teaching) Wrangler RTS. They have a skinnier tread than most tires of the same size and max tire pressure goes up to 44psi I don't run them that high). They are lighter than a lot of tires of the same size too. As far as tire pressure goes, I start out at 32 when I am at test and tunes. Then I drop them till there is no more slip. After putting in these 4.88 gears I got down to 25 psi and kept getting slip. I was wondering what tires were breaking loose till someone told me the fronts were coming up. After I get the adjustable shocks and caltracs on I will have to experiment with adjustments and tire pressure. Its a shame Atco Raceway is supposed to be open this weekend but its calling for rain or snow. Then Atco will be closed till next season like all the other tracks. I was trying to figure out what juicing the tires was. If you mean doing burnouts then no, not anymore since last year I broke two sprag clutches doing a 4wd burnout @ 3000 rpm's. Now I drive around the water.
