Hello everyone. I was wondering if I could get this early bronco lift to work on a 1991 explorer xlt?

Not an expert on them, however I don't think so. The early Broncos had a solid axle and the 91 Explorers have the Twin Traction beam suspension.

Yes thats true but wouldn't the springs still fit? I get its a different front suspension but I don't see why the springs wouldn't fit?

I've read many threads on here about early Bronco coils. I bought a set but haven't tried them yet. A search of both first gen forums should bring up information for you. Lot's of guys anbreviate with "e b".

Most of the kit you have pictured
won't be needed.

And I've also heard of people using different early bronco lifts just with slight modifications.

Would i only need the springs blocks and u bolts? Or what parts would I not need?

Your rear is spring under axle, the blocks would lower it. As far as coils go, check spring rate, inside & outside diameter, free height & installed height. Compare that to your stock coils. Honestly, a search will keep you busy for hours & answer questions you haven't even thought of yet.

I studied coils for months, finally settled on Skyjacker 132X. They're a little too stiff for me but were a direct fit.

In the rear I made a ******* pack from my main leaf & added some Blazer Pro comp lower leaves. Gave me way too much lift & I had to install lowering blocks. Not what I had planned & it's getting completely re-done soon.

Try the search feature in the first gen forums, honestly.

Welcome.

Ex doesn't have coil springs in front, unless you cover shocks with them

It won’t work. You need drop brackets for the front axle beams and for the radius arm ends.

You mean none of my Explorers have coil springs?
Dang, that's news to me.

Maybe you're thinking of 2nd gen.

Browse through the off road forum. It has all the answers you seek.
Yes those coils would fit, but that's it. You also need a bunch of other stuff not included in that kit. I also think they will be way too soft for a TTB suspension. Anyways, search. It's all in the forum.

Has anybody used coil lift spacers? I was gonna get some but all of them say they don't work with TTB suspension or twin I-beam? But isn't that all first gen explorers came with? Can I get coil spacers to work or no?

Spacers work fine. I have some in my junk drawer that I took out of my TTB suspension. The best way is to get a set of F150 coil spacers. They are about 1.5" tall if I remember correctly. They replace the lower coil mount.

Supreme suspensions has ones for the explorer that are a 2 inch lift

What are you planning on using your Explorer for? If it's for street use, those spacers look fine. You will need to have it aligned after install, and you will probably need new alignment bushings/cams.

I'm using it as an offroad rig.

Spacers do not add any travel, they just make the front a little taller. I also don't like those add on adaptors. There is a lot of torque on those bolts in off road situations. I wouldn't trust them. Look through the off road forum like I suggested earlier. Every kind of lift or modification possible has already been done and documented in there.
