Holy **** balls!

So glad you got the fire out

Make sure harness comes from 98-01 5.0 with only one fuel line!!!!

Some trans fluid in that white plug is normal but yours looks excessive

Keep at it you can do this! The more the truck tests you now the more years it will be trouble free once this is all done
Yeah, this is Stickman checking in. firefighter number 2000-302-5.0. Hey so I just got back from U-Pull-It in my town + the first rig I walked up to 2001 x returnless fuel system + I was able to get the entire wiring harness that I needed and a ****ing fuel rail. I am still blown away at the fact that I was able the first ****ing truck I looked at anyway just letting you know that I'm in the process of installing things right now so wish me luck and crossing my fingers and toes my truck should be running this afternoon. stick man out!

well I got everything rewired got the new fuel rail installed had to modify the fuel line because that rubber hose fuel hose was spraying fuel that's why the fire started it's it was spraying right on the ****ing number one ho2 *****. well starting my truck I didn't even bother cleaning up the spark plugs and truck runs a lot better but it's still sluggish I went ahead and used the fuel injectors that I took with the fuel rail at U-Pull-It I cleaned them out before I install them but what my rig is doing now it's like I'm starting off in 4th gear I'll downshift to second and picks up a little bit I'm going to dive back in it tomorrow or I'm getting closer. 9 months of this ****.

Well done
Keep plugging away
It is normal for me to battle things 2 years or so before we win… so hang in there!

okay so here's where I'm at this morning looked at my ODB and all the same codes came up ho2 sensors VSS EPS just all that ****ing bullshit that's running off that fuse well I go check the fuse and the fuse is blowing again f13 so I'm back to square ****ing one. I need some input and let me know what I need to ****ing check now because like I said all the wiring's brand new and everything is hooked up correctly that fuse is being blown by something else and I don't know what

Okay well the good news is that you know it isn’t the harness. That leaves wiring between the fuse box and the harness, and the individual components

Unplug 02 sensors one at a time

Unplug 02 sensors one at a time
I did do that already before the fire LOL when I was checking for the short or an open circuit so I've done that now what the other guy said makes sense seeing that we know it's not the wiring harness LOL. I say we as in us like I guess you guys are involved anyway, I'm gonna check those wires from the PDB To that first major connector right above the intake it's got to be there And Jamie I'll check those H2O sensors again not going to hurt. Also I went ahead and changed out the vs just cuz it was coding too and relatively cheap parts so **** it i've thrown everything else at this **** and then I was starting to think LOL might tachometer hasn't worked it was intermittent hit and miss and then it's just stopped would that have anything to do with that fuse popping?

Click these to open the wiring diagram ^^^

It appears that one of the lines/splices attached to fuse 13 goes to your pressure control solenoid as well as the o2 sensors. It also controls the egr and canister vent valve. so there's a small spot that could be in your engine bay, OR its somewhere between the engine and the spare tire.

im not sure if someone posted the wiring diagrams yet, but I hope this helps a bit

well check it out

, I got my ************* truck fixed boys!!!!! I was getting to the point of didn't think it was ever going to happen keep plugging away at it like Jamie said and you sir were absolutely correct it was the number two ho2 sensor in the process of pulling each one individually again and checking the circuit I pulled that one check the circuit circuit was good. joe I immediately got really excited and I started checking the wires on that sensor and there was a stock insulation wrap shield whatever you want to call it over most of that those four wires and I wasn't able to pull it back to look well I was able to get half of it to pull back and one of the white wires was I swear to God I **** you not 100% bear no insulation around it and about 2 in of that wire and the reason why the insulation wouldn't move is because it was ****ing plastic welded to the ****ing wire insulation. Guess who installed that ho2 sensor? yep you guessed it the guy who installed my exhaust. I cannot thank everybody enough who is chimed in and gave me their advice everything has been so much appreciated I am for now on I am a lifelong member of this forum you guys are ****ing fantastic now I'm going to go dance The jig in the middle of the street naked cuz **** it!

Good find. With the correct fuel rail installed with the fuel (injection) pressure damper on the rail, you should now have over 60#s off pressure with the engine running.

Well done! It's not always that people stay with an issue like this until it's worked out.

Wooooooohooooooooooo

Things that heat up are first suspect when you have a dead short

Now you know your rig inside and out and she will reward you for all your tribulations
