Not sure if I can do the bounce test. I only weigh 163 lb and I can't get it bouncing, but the Explorer rides lousy so I think I will just replace them. Wish I could do it myself....but it always seems that replacing shocks is a tough job without cutting tools.

Yes, that is what I am trying to remove. Mine are not Philips heads and there are only 2 of them. The have a tiny hole in the middle look very odd.

I need to remove the steering column cover to get access to the loose wire that is causing my left rear directional and brake light to fail. How do you get this thing off? I see 2 holes for what appears to be torx screws, but it's difficult to see. Can't focus that close. The holes look round...

My left rear turn signal and brake light no longer work. I replaced the bulb and still doesn't work. Seems like it could be a broken wire. there is no voltage to the socket. Odd that it's one side only. Anyone know what could be wrong?

I've been using synthetic oil in my wife's Explorer since we bought it new. It is now 8 years old. Is it bad in general to switch to regular oil? Some people tell me that synthetic is a waist of money.

That's what I'm thinking, and probably more expensive to fix than wheel bearings.
