Buying new tires: Dealer tire pressure

I know I'm not the first one this happens to and it actually did not happen to me the first time either: I checked yesterday evening the tire pressure of my new BF Goodrich AT. I can't exactly tell you how much those clowns put in as my gauge just goes to  65 psi  I assume it was...

    BF Goodrich All Terrain ko

After 6 years with no other tires than BFG Mud Terrains, I got some BFG AT/ko. Impression after the first 10 miles: Geeez, I did not know that tires can be sooooooo quiet :D :o After this very meaningfull post, back to work ;)

    Onboard air: Portable or hardmount

Portable or hardmount? Viair, Quickair or ARB? I'm not planning on running any airtools or on putting ARB lockers later on. I just want to be able to air up easily after the trails, probably being able to blow out a dirty airfilter, that's it. What do you guys recommend?

    Jeep Wrangler Rubicon

I had the chance to drive a couple of rounds with the Wrangler Rubicon at Camp Jeep. Man is that thing nice. :D I have driven a lot of different 4x4 over the last 15 years, but never anything similar. The 4:1 transfer case makes the biggest part of the great capability of the Rubi as - more...

    Camp Jeep Charlottesville, VA 6/26-6/29

I don't know if any of you "secret" Jeep owners on this board :D are attending Camp Jeep next weekend. If yes, look out for me as I will be working at the Jeep 101 or the Rubicon course. (But don't ask everybody there if he is donkey; that could give some :hammer: :D )

BF Goodrich Commercial T/A on/off road tire

I found this following tire at the BF Goodrich website at their commercial tire section: Anybody has experience with it or heard of it?

    Can magnets get de-magnetized?

My magnetic CB antenna used to withstand about everthing but tree branches. Lately, some turboulances (sp?) behind a semi and down it goes, dangeling on the cable. Can magnets get weaker over the time or what the heck ... Not a serious problem; just wondering

2005 last year for the T-birds

They said in the radio news this morning (gotta love the country stations where something like this is "news" :D ) that Ford announced that they will discontinue the T-bird towards the end of 2005 because of poor sales in 02. They only sold 4000 of them. I guess the real reason is that with...

    Sinjin

Thanks Rod, it was awsome dealing with you. I just bought Rod's Maggiolina Adventure Roof Top Tent. In his "for sale thread" he did not wanted to ship for understandable reasons; that thing is large, bulky and heavy. But, him being in AZ and me in VA, there was no other way than shipping...

Uwharie, NC in Mid-July: Who is interested?

I have never been to Uwharie, NC (about 45 minutes east of Charlotte, NC), but I heard a lot of great things about it. It should not be as hard as Tellico, has suitable things for stockers, but also fun stuff to do for modified rigs. Looking at my busy schedule, I decided to reserve the...

Urban legend or not: Self-burned CDs damage CD players?

My bro-in-law advised me not to use my self-burned CDs because they would destroy the CD player at long term. True or false? His CD player went out and he blamed the "pirate-copies" for it. My guess is that this is false, but I'm not an audio freak and obviously have no clue :o Thanks!

Sun., Oct 27. Crabtree Falls, Staunton, VA

I will be going wheeling with folks from Richmond to Crabtree Falls, Staunton, VA next Sunday, Oct 27. It will mostly be Jeeps, but it's not a Jeep only event. Therefore I thought I will post it here. Don't ask me how the trail is: I have never been there :D Meeting point in Richmond is...

    Tellico Nov 2nd - 3rd

Tellico Nov 2nd- 3rd Rick (Bionic Marsh.) posted a question in the GWNF-thread, but I think it is better to start a new thread. This is what happened so far: It seams that some big dawgs (Rick, Gerald, SteveVB) are interested in or are going to Tellico on Nov 2nd and 3rd. I'm also...

    GWNF run on July 27th

I will run some trails at GWNF on Saturday, July 27th. Looks like if I already have a bunch of Jeepers coming with me. But it's not a Jeep only run, so everybody feeling like coming should join. When: Saturday, July 27; starting time depends on when the other groups plan on leaving. I...

Anyone heard of "Royal Blue, TN"?

I found on www.discoweb.org some pics about an area called "Royal Blue". Suposingly it is 30 miles north of Knoxville, TN just off I-75. Anyone ever heard this name before or been there? Looking at the pics, it could be an ideal location for making a VA/WV/NC/SC/TN/KN stocker run. Pics at...

    The Wave

I rotated my BFG MTs last weekend - OK I waited a little bit long, approx. 10'000 miles since last time - and I noticed with both of my front tires, that the surface of each and every lug has an extreme wave-shape  It looks almost like this ~, right and left tire absolutely equal, every...

    Dunlop Radial Rover R/T

My last three sets of tires were BFG MTs, and I actually was very happy with them. Surfing the internet (bad thing to do) I came accross these Dunlop Radial Rover R/T. The survey results tirerack posts is excellent, but I have never heared about these tires before, just always the Mud Rovers...

Rumors: No Wrangler no more, GM wanting to buy Jeep & Baby Navigator?

Here some rumors found at Dead Link Removed It’s a cluster of rumors this week: First off, the Wrangler, discontinued? The scuttlebutt is that it will be replaced by a spinoff of the new Jeep Liberty and the old Jeep Icon concept. It’ll still resemble a Wrangler; it just won’t be a Wrangler...

2002 Explorer with Diesel Engine in Europe?

In its January issue, the German off-road magazine "4-wheel fun" (that's what's called a genuine "New-German-Name" :D ), printed a two page introduction of the 2002 Explorer, which will hit the German market in spring 2001. Most interestingly, they were talking about a 140 horsepower, 2.5...

Where to put my HighLift Jack?

I'm tempted to put my HighLift Jack on the stock roof rack as for example Gerald did, but neither the 4XRAC nor the LOC-RAC seams to be ideal to me for that task. I was actually thinking about drilling a hole in the stock bar and putting a long M8 screw through it (with two large washers our...

    Different Kind of Serious Exploration

Probably it was not the smartest idea to squeeze inn a business trip to Toronto, Canada just on Monday before Thanksgiving, not if you plan to pass Thanksgiving in Cape Coral, Florida. Actually, it would all have been routine, if Mother Nature would not have decided to dump a huge load of snow...
