Would this work? Power window accuator for rear sport windows

I've noticed how the Lincoln Navigators have power rear quarter panel windows. I'm just curious if anyone has tried this modification and if not, what the experts think my chances are of making it work. I would be using the stock Lincoln accuator and probably some sort of aftermarket switch...

How do I interrupt the door open chime?

I did several searches. Honest I did, but nothing seemed to answer my question. How do I interrupt the door open chime? What I would like to do is install a switch that I can flip if I have the door open and the key in the ignition. I know that it is part of the Crown Vic Police Interceptor...

Perfect Paint Match For Gen 2 Black Rear Bumpers

I was moving the socket for my trailer lights plug to a spot in my bumper this weekend and I wanted to paint the area around the hole I cut as there was bare metal. So, I took a chance and got some Rustoleum Flat Black Paint. It was a PERFECT match. So perfect you can't tell where I stopped...

Rear Axel Shifted Back -- How do I correct?

In doing my leaf spring/shock replacements, my rear axel is now a couple inches too far back. Fortunately, its still in alignment. How do I fix this? :banghead: Note, I only have two jack stands and the stock bottle jack. I do however have all the sockets as well as rachet straps. Thanks!

Broken Bolt: Rear Shock, Lower Mounting Bolt!

No longer 911, now just the bolt holding on the shackle is siezed. I broke the bottom bolt that holds the rear shock to the spring plate. What size is this bolt? Where can I go to find this? Will a Lowes/Home Depot bolt be strong enough?

It begins tomorrow...she'll squat no more!

I've been spraying penetrating rust eating stuff on all the bolts for 2 days now, I have my tools, the shocks are here and pick up the leaf-springs and shackles tomorrow morning. I've studied my Haynes manual and the forum of course and I think I'm ready. Wish me luck. I'll post pics and a...

Not a 911, but need an answer to a leaf spring question so I can order in time

2000 sport. Mono leafs and 4 door leaf packs are the same length, right? Guy at the stealership seems to think differently. Thank you!

    Shocks and Leaf Springs...What order?

Hey everybody! I'm going to get rid of the old lean/squat that my Ex has had for the longest time and put in a set of door leaf springs. While I'm at it, I'm replacing the shocks as well. I got a set of Rancho RSX17000s for $191.72 shipped at Summit Racing. Anyway, my question is this...

2000 OHV What is this? How do I disconnect?

FIXED!!!! Thanks to Dan for his response and to all on the forum for the information contained within. Removing the intake plenum to replace gaskets and plugs/wires. This piece is stopping me and I can't figure out how to disconnect. Help!

Not quite a 911, but would like a preliminary diagnosis

Alright, well the cold and my health have forced me to hold off on my full tune-up, but my X is having problems. For a couple weeks prior, I was experiencing a very rough idle at start-up and some hesitation when cold. Fine in the higher rpms and when cruising. On Tuesday, I threw a CEL. I...

Routing Plug Wires on the 4.0 OHV

Doing a tune-up this weekend and that includes changing plugs and wires. I have the elbows, wobbles and beer to help me through the plug portion. I've also made sure that the little kids in my area will be safely stowed away at parks and shopping malls so that the profanity that is sure to...

    Electrical Weirdness!

This is a recap of my previous posts, but things have quickly worsened as you will soon read. While driving yesterday, my battery light came on and the volt gauge was reading low. It happened at highway speeds and after driving for about 15 minutes. The light went out and the gauge returned to...

    Fixing uneven driver's seatback

The bottom (and likely the whole) left side of my driver's seat is about an inch further back. It still reclines and goes forward without problems, but it does get uncomfortable on longer drives. I've included a picture, but I'm not sure if it shows the problem very well. Is there a...

Fair Price For Gen 2 4 Door Leaf Springs??

Well, my Sport suffers from the common problem of a sagging rear-end and I was going to adjust the T-Bars, but decided against because, 1) The height difference is about 2" and I couldn't quite get that much adjustment, 2) I've heard that the 4 Door Leaf Springs are better, and 3) It's a truck...

Need some suggestions for a fiberglass project

My HU comes with a remote control that I decided to flush mount in the armrest of the center console. I cut out the vinyl and foam today and created a tunnel for the remote signal. I also put a lens in the front of the armrest to make it look clean. I'd rate the look of the project a 6.5...

CV Joint Lifespan for a 2000 Sport???

I'm wondering if my CV joints are shot...or perhaps if I have another issue. If I'm in 4 HI or 4 Low and try to turn somwhat sharply, I can definitely feel the wheels skipping. Is this the CV's going bad? If not, what might it be? What is the lifespan for an Explorer CV anyway? :scratch...
