Any idea how to do this on a 97 with a 5.0L V8? I just seem to have pulleys, with no visible way to adjust them. Had to replace the alternator, and can't get the damned belt back on! Until then, I'm dead in the water (or driveway).

I can't seem to get the EATC in my 97 Eddie into self-test mode. Is it the same combination of buttons as on the 98? When I press off and floor together, the system turns off, then when I press auto (within 2 seconds), it just goes into auto mode.

Can anyone verify that the Dorman 604-201 actuator works on a 97 with EATC? Every place I check shows it listed for 1998-2001. If I do a search for my vehicle, I get the 604-202, but that lists manual air, and I've definitely got EATC in my Eddie Bauer.

Upon further review, I think I cut most of the way along that side (might have needed to to get it to "flap". It's been a while. The "flap" piece wasn't completely disconnected from the duct.

In my case, only the 3 sides were cut, the fourth (as seen in the picture) remained connected and the "flap" was just bent down enough to allow removal and insertion of the blend doors. Take care cutting around the round "seat" area, which is where the bottom of the blend door shaft rests...

Thanks, I sort of figured that, but I was hoping there might be an easier way that I just wasn't seeing. The coil pack support has one bolt on each side bottom, and then one on the side, or are there more that are hidden where I can't see them?

Anybody have any tips on removing the Camshaft Synchronizer on a 5.0L 97 EB? I can't even get to the capscrews on the CPS, let alone remove the entire synchronizer. There's some sort of rigid hose running in front of it (part of the AC?) and the coil packs are mounted over it.
