On my 03's climate control system, on fan speed selecter swith - position "3" does not work (stays at 2 speed). 1, 2 & 4 work, but 3 is often the desired speed. From the manual it looks like the switch is in an assembly - located on the back of the center console trim panel. Diagram shows the trim panel pulls straight out - but how??? Tried a bit but I'm afraid to crack it or mark the dash... Any tips for removeal or switch repair/replacement?

Welcome aboard!! :salute:

When I bought my Ex, Fan Speed 3 didn't work. There was no change when switching from #2 to #3. I replaced the switch and it works fine!!

I was lucky to score the entire bezel with all controls & switches from eBay for $14.00.

To remove the bezel use a putty knife, butter knife, etc. and start at the top corner and gently pry it out, continuing around until the bezel is free fron the dash:

Once the bezel is free, disconnect the controls & switches.

Then pull the knob off the fan switch.

Once the knob has been removed, you can remove the switch for replacement.

Installation is reverse of removal.

Check you PM. I have sent the removal procedure from my Shop Manuals. Note that you DO NOT need to remove the controls from the bezel in order to remove the fan switch.

Hope this helps out. :D:thumbsup:
