04 Explorer LTD transmission jolt in reverse

This explorer only has 48000 miles 4.6 V8 4WD and now when you shift from park to reverse,there is a long pause then a jolt.There is no propblem in drive.
I am being told from the service guy at the local ford dealership that it is probably just the computer that needs reseting.Is this something that anyone has had experience with.BTW,I am new to this forum and I appreciate any help. Thanks

Most likely the solenoid pack. There is a TSB on it. Ours just got replaced at 57000 miles.

I have an 04 Eddie Bauer and sometimes when I go from Park to Reverse, it'll just sit there and I have to step on the gas pedal a little to rev the engine then it slams into reverse hard. Not sure what is going on, but it can't be to good. I have an extended warranty, but they won't fix anything till it broke!!
