The computer flags the solenoid (p0775) as a mechanical fault (sol B) because the programming is such that the computer thinks it can raise line pressure enough to overcome the shift error time. This code is usually a companion code to a gear ratio code like p0732 (for 2nd)or p0735 (for 5th) so check for more codes. The fact that you don't have 2nd and 5th tells me that the overdrive band is probably broken or the overdrive servo has failed.

The valve body gaskets on this valve body are bonded to the plate and never fail, if you had 2nd and no 5th I would say the solenoid block.

Solenoid Module Replace

I had a similar problem, 2004 Expl., bought solenoid module on Ebay, about $165, new, made by Bosch, bought a pan gasket and filter, replaced the module, did not mess with the valve body, fixed it.

ok thats makes me feel a little better about replacing the module

i had a p0775 just a month or two ago. 50k since it was rebuilt. It was a cracked Servo Piston that had to be replaced. Common failure from what the trans guy said. No need to pull trans.

And this is in the soleniod block or is this something different ??

Something different, the OD servo bore also wears in these transmissions.

yeah i also read that about the servo bores is that fixable also

The servo bores are on fixable during a rebuild.

well im gonna try a soleniod pack first then go from there i can buy a rebuilt tranny for $1400 better than the $2600 from local tranny shop

It was the servo piston not the bore. On the original rebuild he did the sleeve fix. It was the actual piston (servo). On the side you can see a big nut looking thing. I've read that if your careful you can just pull that piece out.
