Blow off valve
I'm a few weeks away from getting my sport! Can't wait for Kens tune. I test drove one the other day from the dealers lot. I found 1st gear to be underwhelming, 2nd gear pulled pretty good. My wife loved it because we drove a new Buick Enclave just prior and that was as slow as our old B9 Tribeca
. I'm sure the tune will make me smile. I have a quick question about the blow off valve venting. I didn't see a post on how to do the mod. Does anyone have to info? I love the sound having played racing games my whole life, just not sure how the wife will feel as it's her new car not mine
The turbo builds boost, when you let off the gas your engine doesn't need that boost and it has to go somewhere. If it didn't get vented it can surge back and damage the turbo so vehicles use a diverter/recirculation valve or blow off valve to dump the excess pressure.
The sport recirculates that pressure back around to the intake, and there is a mod (separate from the tune itself) which allows you to change that to a vent to atmosphere setup which just gives you a noise, cool to some, annoying to others, but pick your poison.
I'll leave the tune talk up to Ken though!
