2002 Explorer XLT
Hey everyone,
I had just purchased a 2002 Explorer XLT 3 weeks ago and got my hands on brand new 235/85R16 tires. Now because of the different dimension than what comes from stock I'm interested in putting a very simple 1" lift in my explorer. Any suggestions/ which brand should I look for and which are the ones to stay away from. Any feedback should help, thanks!

Welcome to the Forum j.carriere02.:wavey:
I moved your thread to this sub forum. The 5th generation 2011 - 2015 Explorer is quite a bit different from the earlier generations. Good luck.

I cant comment much on the lift, but those tire should fit just fine stock. I run 265/70s and have plenty of room to go still, a lot of people run 265/75s on stock with no issues, based on tire calculator sites, your tire is almost exactly the same height as a 265/75 and of course skinnier. So the tire install itself will give you a small lift without having to do anything else. BUT... gotta agree, a lift would still be nice on top of what the tires give you.

1.5" body lift for $50 or less: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=312012

You can always get the 2" body lift blocks and cut those in half, which would give you a 1" instead of 1.5"
