15x8's not fitting

You need 15x8 with 3.75 in of backspacing. Ive been runnin them on my 01 sport for over a year and they dont rub at all. Unless it is 3.75 it wont work mine fits by just enough.

Those are the same rims right? do you happen to know what the model number with that backspacing is?

x2, but...

IMO you should be running 16" wheels
a wheel spacer would likely help your situation, or grind down the caliper body just a bit

The size of that brake is why your truck came with 16's

If Ford only did a 16 because of the style of their rim, then...

I dislike the idea of reducing the brake caliper manually.... buying a whole new smaller brake assembly might be better (riskier too)
 






you have a few options:
1. Send back these rims and hope for a full refund - they may count that scrape as damage though. then buy the right offset.
2. Grind back that calliper a bit - you will need around 1/8" clearance to be safe, so that's a fair bit of grinding - if you go too far, you are up for next callipers as well as new rims
3. Buy a set of spacers to get the rims away from those callipers - you need hubcentric ones, and probably only 1" spacers is all you need, which means you may have to grind down the wheel lugs (not recommended).

I'd be going for option 1 personally, but option 2 should be doable as well, just not as foolproff as option 1. Option 3 may give you more drams than you already have.
 












going with those will be cheaper than going up to the 16's but still cost me like 80 bucks more which isn't too bad. I need to figure out what I want to do now.

If it was me-
I'd grind the offensive area off. Make small cuts-testing for fitment often-you only need to see light between the caliper and wheel-
as the pads wear, that will "migrate" inwards-so be sure you have new pads on, or, allow a little extra grinding so you don;t have to grind again when you replace the pads.

Then I would paint the wheel where it is scratched to keep it from rusting.

You shouldn't cause any damage-I dont believe brake fluid will be in that area-it should be solid.

This way it will all be a done deal tomorrow.

You need new pads and rotors--BTW

16s will give you an extra 1/2" clearance over the 15s in relation to the calliper, so given that it was only just touching, you should be fine; assuming the same width and backspacing as the 15s.
