16"-> 15" Rim size on 97 sport

Can I put 15" rims on my 97 ford explorer sport(2 door). Stock rims now are 16" three spoke. My friend has a pair of tires I would like to try on 15"

If you do can I have 2 of the center caps from the 16" chrome ones? Someone apparently needed some and thought it would be a good idea to take them off my truck while i was at work.

FYI they fit on no problem. No clearance issues with the brakes.
