Just purchased, Ford Ranger XLT (manual transmission, 2WD). All shocks need replaced! Any help? Ive owned a 91 Explorer and replaced the clutch assembly but have never had to work on suspension issues. I have faith i will be able to handle this with the proper help as with the explorer repairs that were made possible through the help of generous users as yourself.

Shocks are much easier to replace than a clutch.

There's one nut on a stud (the stud is either on the vehicle or shock, depending on design) - remove the nuts, remove the old shock, install the new shock, install the nuts - that's it.

Enjoy the much improved ride.

A word of caution.... Be very careful with the lower front shock bolt, making sure you spray lots of WD40 or liquid wrench onto the nuts before trying to break it loose. I've seen them break off too easily on these years.
