i have a 1997 Ford Explorer AWD. Would like to put in manual transfer case. What would you reccomend?

Your only real option is the bw4406 from an F-150 or Expedition. There's a few threads on here if you do a search. You need a new driveshaft from the salvage yard, but it will work with all Ford parts.

First thing to determine is if you have a speed sensor in the rear differential, or if it is in the transfer case on your truck.
