1997 XLT front dome light

Maybe you guys can help. I just bought my X 11/15/06 and did't think much of the front dome lights not working when I test drove it. Couple of bulbs I thought. Well I pulled the bulbs yesterday and found that the copper contacts for the map light bulbs are destroyed. Can I get a replacement unit? Should I try a u-pull-it type place? Is the unit difficult to replace?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

There are a few being parted out here, on the forum.
Search the classifieds, I'm sure you'll find one.

Shouldn't be a big deal replacing it.

Try doing a search on EBay too. The Help section (red packages) from Motormite sometimes have replacement sockets.

I have seen them at yards for under $20, just get the matching unit. The type with sunroofs have the switch in them, and no garage door opener holder. Good luck,
