Do you have the auto light function mirror on your sport?
I had a similar problem on my 98 sport because the rear window hatch sensor did not make good contact and that with the auto light function my lights would flash like yours but not that many times, mine would flash about twice every minute or two. Once I fixed the window sensor, (then sealed it shut as I have no use for that window to open), and turned the auto light completely off it fixed that problem. I don't know of any code the "flashing light" means but you might ask someone whom has been here a while and has heard just about all the things that might go on with these units as they may not monitor these questions on this board as they once used too. I hope this helps. Please post your results if that work. Good luck!

I probably should note that the rear window hatch not making good contact with the sensor gave me a "door ajar" light which prompted me to check all the door sensor's.

No but I found out what it was I fried my wiring harness and blew some fuses

Installed a light bar and pinched a hot wire therefore I blew a fuse fix the fuse and melted my wiring harness
