What's goin on folks. I have an issue. My truck's gas meter is on the fritz. I put gas in the truck and it seems like its not much. Then when I drive, the meter shifts back and forth. Sometimes the check guage light comes on my dash board. If I'm at a downward angle, the meter gets lower. Any advice???

Well, the instrument that detects the level is in the fuel tank. I have had these go bad before. You could drop the tank and pull the pump and level sensor and check the resistance when the lever arm goes up and down to see if it is working. I think you have to replace the pump and level sensor both as they are one unit. Not cheap. Of course it could be some wiring loose, you still would need to either drop the tank and check the wiring connection there and get back behind the dash for connections there, neither of which are the easiest things to do.

It sounds like the gauge isn't going into anti-slosh mode.

Look around using "gas gauge" instead of "gas meter" for a search term...
