1998 Mercury Mountaineer
I realize I am a bit late as I have already purchased my Mountaineer but I wondered how these vehicles are.To make it clear I love my new to me Mountaineer. The specs are 5.0 v/8 a.w.d. 123 K miles.on inspection it has new front driveshaft and both front axles, new plugs and wires.Vehicle is an original paint rust free car.Interior is like new and it is a one owner car from Princeton,New Jersey:D

Yes I bought my Mountaineer on E bay after researching it and I made up my mind that having lived all it's life in Princeton it should have spent all it's time in school(ha ha ha)Seriously it looks like new even though it is a 1998 with 123 k miles on it . From what I was told from my garage the front drive shaft as well as the axles are a problem related to miles not necessarily hard usage . The vehicle was dealer serviced all it's life as the only stickers are Lincoln- Mercury dealer right up to three months ago . I guess the Mountaineers are made for us fat old boys . This truck certainly has not been off roaded . I am not familiar with Princeton but I have a feeling snow does not happen that often and salt is not in big use like up hear in the great white north.:D
