Hello all

Having a problem locating a fuel damper for the 5.0 engines.

Everyplace you can find a listing for them says they are discontinued.

Part numbers are:

2Z-9F775-AB OEM
Wells FD207
Airtex 3G1009

Fits Mercury Mountaineer 99-01 with 5.0L
Explorer same years with 5.0L

Dealership says not available, discontinued.

There is a listing on eBay for one, but they have five different parts break down images and some are for the 4.0 (has two bolt mounting) and one looks to be this one, all using same number but when you open each image, obviously two different parts doing the same job on different engines.

http://www.fordpartsgiant.com/partl...00-ford-explorer-1898647-1899351-1907143.html Also shows 5.0 engine components discontinued.

Are people going to have to junk vehicles 12-14 years old because of this tiny part?

Thank you ahead of time for responses.

The fuel dampner is part of the fuel rail assembly. Both sides are all one part due to the fuel line between them. stitch0852 I sent you a private message.

You can find them used, but you never know what you're going to get. I just recently replaced mine with a used one and it made my issue go away for a couple days - now it's back.

my thread here - http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=390019

Just curious - what issues are causing you to replace it?
