Is it only the rear wheel drive Sts that are supposed to have the 2 bolt differential to subframe mount bolts or should all STs have the 2 bolt subframe mount

sjould a brand new 2022 Explorer St have this rear end mount set up

None that I have seen. Starting some time in 2021 Ford went to a single bolt.

I thought the single bolt was deemed to be an inferior design, hence the recall and the horsepower required the 2 bolt design

So far the recall is a software update to apply the parking brake when put into park.

I thought that was just temporary to keep it from rolling away in the event of a failure,

So far that is the fix. It may change but only time will tell.

From a YouTube video I watched earlier, '20s got the two-bolt. After that, it's a single. AWR has a part that can tighten that up. There's also the "Diffy Stiffy", which is considerably less expensive.

That fix doesn't keep the bolt from breaking and tearing everything else up
That it doesn't. But percent wise it's a small amount that have broke. And most that have broke have been modded. Or been launched many times at the drag strip or both.

My dealer applied the band-aid to my Limited (single bolt), but the parking brake engages when I tell it to. There's no automatic engagement. After tomorrow at lunch time, it'll not be an issue. I'm picking up my ST.

Sounds like they did something wrong. I hope you love the ST.

I looked under the ST today: two bolts holding the pumpkin. Guess I'm OK, considering it's unlikely I'll hammer it enough to hurt it.

What's everyone opinion if you should add a rear diff brace like AWR if you have the two bolt rear ?

Welcome to the Forum.
If the vehicle has the 2 bolt rear I don't see a need for a brace seeing as there are quite a few on the road with just the 1 bolt and no additional bracing. What is AWR?

I agree about not adding one as it has not been an issue when there are both bolts, only with the 1 bolt.
Peter, this is the AWR. 2020+ Ford Explorer ST Differential Mount
