Hello all,
So I already have the 2" suspension lift and the tt. I want it higher, Out here in Cali There are TONS of HUGE trucks and I want to be also.

I was thinking of doing the pa883 3" bodylift but people have said the ride will be more harsh (its not the softest ride as it is) so I am trying to do anything else possible (I won't be doing this, I will take it to a shop) to get it atleast another 3-4".

I see others doing the add-a-leafs and I have done that on my Jeep, can I do it to my x with minimal modification?

I have the 2000 Eddie Bauer 5.0L 2wd automatic, 2" suspension lift, tt, 32" with 17x8 wheels, and the front fender has already been shaved a little bit. I also was thinking of using spacers to get that off road look (I use my quad for the off-roading though, x is to haul quad to the mountains)

*I have searched already and only found other models doing this, not mine

You have it backwards. The AALs will give you a slightly rougher ride. A BL really would have no effect on how soft your suspension is, or isn't.

Have you looked into shackles? What about some 3" lift spindles for the front and a new leaf pack for the rear? That would be the ultimate setup for you for both looks and cost.

Thanks for the reply Section525, I am a little new to the field as someone else usually did this for me, what is an AAL?

And where can I find, and what part # is the shackles, leaf pack, and spindles?

AAL = Add-A-Leaf :D

Not sure on the part numbers. Fabtech makes the spindles though.

Can I use the Fabtech kit made for the 98-01 ford ranger? It is a coil-spring kit that lifts 5.5"

a 2000 EB 5L Explorer should be AWD versus 2WD, lift spindles won't work.

Unless of course the V8 was swapped in

no the lift kit with the coils is for the 2wd rangers with coils, you need the lift spindles for the 2wd rangers with torsion bars.

2wd Explorers were available with V8's and V6's

if you had a V8, you either had AWD or you had a straight burnout 2wd machine :D ;) hence why some are doing the B4406 t-case swap (correct if wrong)

And where can I find, and what part # is the shackles, leaf pack, and spindles?

Use the WAR 153 Shackles. They'll give an extra 1.5-2" depending on how new your leaf springs are. With the AAL, it should pop it up another inch for a 2.5-3" total.

I am about 95% sure my X is 2wd and I already have a v8, so no need to swap one in, lol.

How would I know if it is awd? there are NO buttons where the 4wd people have them on the radio bezel.

there is no switch, but there is a AWD transfercase underneath.

There were no 2wd V8 explorers or mountys from the factory, and they are only in the 4 door versions also.
