Do you have a V-6 or V-8? If it's a V-6, you do not have all wheel drive, and there are a few alternate replacement options. If it's a V-8, there aren't any other options I know of.

Nope. That would be automatic 4 wheel drive... Completely different system. The 13-54 manual case out of a 1st-gen is a decent-enough option.

is there any way that i can replace it with a transfer case that will allow me to have 2 wheel drive and four wheel drive if so what kind would i have to get

Sorry... my last post wasn't clear... For your truck, a 13-54 out of a 1st-gen is the t-case du-jour. There are more than a few people here that have made the swap from a 44-05 to a manual 13-54.

In general, they are found on 91-94 Explorers. Make sure it is a manual though, because the 1354 more commonly comes in an electric version (not manual).

I know for sure you can find them in 91094 Explorers. It *may* have been available in Rangers as late as 97, but don't quote me on that...
