I went start it like I normally do fires right up not today. I don't think its getting fuel and not sure how to tell. Why I think no fuel cause it kind of just ran down a 2 maybe 3 times and nothing after that. So how do you tell if its getting fuel?
Is there Fuel reset button and if so where is it? How would I check the fuel pump. I have no manual and I'm 62 never mess with none of this new stuff like this lol I know it should have pressure on the lines not sure how you go about that either. May have to go buy me a manual lol HELP :)
Frank:)

If you sit down on the ground by the fuel tank and listen while someone else turns the car to the on/acc position, you should be able to hear the fuel pump turn on. If it turns on, you then need to check to see if you have pressure. If you don't hear anything, it could either be a bad connection or the pump itself.

How do I do this cause my Theft lights blinks fast tried my new new key I have.
How do you check that Passive Anty-Theft System (PATS)

1. Does "THEFT" blink rapidly with ignition key in Off, On or Start?
Yes: Verify key validity
Check Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS)

Haven't been on this board too long, didn't know about that thread. Very informative and easy to follow.

The engine does not start and LED remains off.
1. Check PATS system fuses
2. If alarm is fitted check if LED functions for alarm: if not check cigar lighter fuse (also used for LED)
3. If not go to main dealer

Engine does not start: LED flashes rapidly Leave ignition on until the LED starts to flash a 2 digit code: (sequence- pause-sequence)
Check the following codes:
Code flashes:
1:3 Key code not received. Is key screened by other keys or objects? Try different key: if okay then first key is faulty. If not go to main dealer
1:4 Partial code only received. Try again. If not okay use different key. If not go to main dealer
1:5 Key not programmed into PATS. Program key as above using master
1:6 Faulty link between PATS module and EECV Go to dealer .

I did more thinking than I did reading or maybe both but I did find the problem wires been cut about 5 or 6 Got most of it fix gonna have to see if I can get another wiring harness for that part if I can I have a 2000 5.0 Limited Edison Explorer So I guessing I'll need one off of a V8 right I think :salute:

I have a 2000 Ford Explorer limited Edition 5.0 auto tranny all wheel drive and I have had some outside help on my wiring harness by squirrels. Seems like they chewed up part of my main wiring harness clear back to the end of the plug I was able to do some splicing and got it running again. But what I need is the wiring harness from the computer fire were it plugs into to over to the driver side where it plugs into is my main problem but want to splice in another harness where it start down the firewall.

My question is will I need a harness out of a Explorer with a 5.0 and auto tranny and does it have to be a limited edition. I think it would.

I know a place that has lots of Exporters I just need to know it that right on the harness.

You need a 2000 v8 engine harness. It will be year specific. I'm pretty sure it is tied in with the battery harness also, so you may need the whole power distribution box also.

All v8's were auto transmission, AWD has no wiring so it doesn't matter.

2000 v8 2wd should work.

Thank You Turdle so much I am on Social security I really can't afford to by another auto but may end up having to I sure hope not. Its hard for me to work on these auto now days being 62 and high risk stroke patient wife on Oxygen hospital is 50 miles away. So getting this Explorer fix is very important I have had it now for 6 years. Thank You again !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I bought a use wiring harness using VIN #s to match and make sure wiring harness would work. So 150.00 for the harness 150.00 for installation I'm 62 so a total of a little over $300.00 cause a a darn squealer.

But that's not the rest of the story it gets better. I go pick up my Explorer notice something not right at all. My steering wheel was haft off what the heck. So drove back said no wasn't nothing they would of had to mess with. So the shop and I started checking things out and tell me to bring it into a stall. Pull the horn and air bag and stuff. Darn steering was broken all the way around I had this SUV going on 6 years so its been broken for that long and finally gave it up. Glad it happen in town anyway got another one installed. The original 2000 factory:salute steering wheel said made in Mexico :salute:
