2000 Ford Explorer Custom Paint with Lots of Pictures

Very nice job. I really like the it. Planning on doing something with my 1996 X this summer, just havent decided yet.
How do you guys think the stock green color on top half with black on bottom half?

I'm planning on doing the opposite of you, painting from the bottom of the windows up black and the trim black while leaving the rest stock green.

Haha. Im gonna get my rocker panels replaced and trying to find some color to paint it once I get them fixed.
When are you planning on doing yours Spoon. I hope it looks good if you decide to do it.

Damn I love the paint job of your truck. It'd look good lowered a little for sure.

well Ill probably do the trim first seeing as to theres quite a bit of rust under it and when I go to fix that I'll have the trim off anyway, I'll probably do that as soon as the weather stops messing with me.
The top half of it I gota look into a bit more because I only decided to do it because the black I used to paint the pillars matches my window tint. I've got access to an air paint gun but i don't know much about painting cars, we really only use it to paint industrial machines, not quite car quality paint jobs, but other than the roof, I wouldn't be painting much.

When you finish your paint send my a picture of it. Good Luck.
Thank You.

I love in one of the pics where its showing the passenger front fender, and some of the windshield, and on the tape's painted "F.U." and "POS"

Great looking paint job though, I love that color grey, and those wheels look amazing! I say lower it at least 2".

Got any pics of the interior?

You said you had monitors in each door?

Not yet still working on getting it done.

Nice...what size? What kinda audio you gonna put in there? (Or if you already do)

Right now I got a pioneer deck 08 model. 4 infinity speakers for the doors and 2 kicker l5 15s. Nothing is finalized on that though. Im putting in 4 monitors in the door 7", 7" Video deck and 2 17" flip downs.

Hey this project still isn't dead. I'm making slow but good progess on it. Do you guys know what kind of headlights and tail light would look best on this?

I'd have to say a set of the clear 'diamond cut' lens headlights would look good.

I'm not sure if the chrome or black projector headlights would go with that silver/grey too well :dunno:

EDIT - Nvm that grey is daark and you have black windows., 1 vote for the black projector style headlights!!

Yes, but they make them in Black instead of that chrome housing. I'm not sure how well all that chrome would look with your grey/blue combo. But I guess it's really a matter of opinion.

Talk to sean99 or BrianDye to get pointed in the right direction on them.. Certain ones are higher quality and cheaper than others. Some of them come with brighter halos or something? And I think BrianDye switched his regular bulbs out with LED's and they looked pretty sweet.

This is the hardest part so far. I got everything else planned out. LOL

Go with the black projectors!

The top strip had little filament 194 bulbs, so I swapped them out with LED...(Of course :p:)

Theres what it looked like out of the box:

Are those hard to put in? Any extra wiring required?

No extra wiring (unless your putting HIDs in them like I did), but they're actually real easy to install. You just need asmall dremmel to cut out some of the fiberglass on the panel to clear the blinkers plugs.
