Went to start my trunk tonight and it cranks over fine , but no spark. Any ideas or threads on how to trouble shoot a no spark issue. Are the camshaft or crankshaft position sensors the first place to look?

Would a bad crankshaft position sensor show a P code?

I checked the list by Street-Rod2000 and item 6 ...when I turn the key on all dash lights come on including the check engine light. When I turn the key the CEL goes out for a few seconds then comes back on and stays on while cranking. Looks like the crankshaft position sensor is gone. Ill check to see if it has thrown a code, but a new sensor is only $15 so Ill get one

Tapped it with a small hammer and it fired right up.. going to change the CP sensor with a BWD sensor. Hope its not crap.

Got the sensor changed. Not an easy job, but very doable. Do not attempt this job if you don't have a lot of patience. You will need 8mm socket and two short extensions. I took the two stabilizer bar clamps off and pulled the bar down to aid access. Remove electrical connector and lower bolt from sensor. Use one extension and remove upper bolt and remove sensor. This is the easy part. I spent some time trying to install the new sensor by putting in the lower bolt then trying to get the top bolt in. (cant see the top bolt or hole at all) this was wrong, you need to install the top bolt first as the sensor with its magnet keeps attaching to the harmonic balancer. Take the top bolt and with some electrical tape wrap the socket with tape to keep the bolt from falling out. I used 2 extensions to give me about 3 inches length. I had to remove my latex gloves here, as you will need all the dexterity your hands will give you. Push the bolt through the top hole on the sensor, then with both hands start the bolt in the upper hole as best you can by turning the extension. tighten it snug, then by hand install the lower bolt. (leave the socket on the upper bolt as it is taped) Then finish tightening the top bolt, and then the lower. Hook up the electrical connector and reinstall the stabilzer bar and the job is done

That job is much harder than it looks.
I used Blu Tack to hold the bolt in place 'til I could do it up.

My hands are just too big for that sort of thing.
