2000,xls, wanting to stall,sluggish

Hello, So I am having an issue with my truck. It is wanting to stall out when I start it. cold out or not. And when i rev it up a lot a finally just put it in gear and go it is ok but will wanna stall out when stopped. it lasts for a bit and then goes away. i did have same issue before i had a new throttle cable put on, that's really the only thing I've done it it lately. any ideas??

Oh, i did have a new fuel filter put on,(was happening before) and there have been no codes. Forgot to add that.

I would do a fuel pressure test to see if fuel pump is going out - get that ruled out. Those symptoms / scenarios are common with a failing fuel pump. On your 2000 I believe the good range is around 65 PSI.

Try cleaning the IAC , make sure the plunger moves freely.

Does your check engine light work during the bulb check at turn on with key? is it illuminated while driving?

It does work, but doesn't come on while driving, no. I ordered a

Having a quality scanner is nice but, maybe not the best option considering costs and potential for future use.

Many don't know most auto parts stores will scan for free (hoping you'll buy repair parts there, but there's no obligation).

Please post whether it was the IAC, fuel pump or both.
