2002 Explorer V8 AC compressor cost?

It looks like I need to replace my ac compressor in my 2002 v8 explorer and it looks like it's a job to get to it.

the compressor is deep under there isn't it.

Might be more than I can handle myself to replace on my own with my limited knowledge/skills

What's a ballpark price to replace an AC compressor with a cheap replacement?

I usually buy a salvage yard pull on ebay for under $60

most shop will charge you up to $2000 since they will be changing not just the compressor (orifice tube,accumulator/dryer,condenser,pipes... whatever they think will prevent comebacks)
if you do it yourself, a cheap compressor is $200-$300, accumulator is $30 and orifice tube is $9. Cans of refrigerant are $6 each in walmart, you probably need 4-5 cans (depending if you have rear ac)

I did it myself for under $100 but I only needed to replace the compressor and refrigerant and oil.
