I am purchasing a new PATS transceiver since every other thing I have tried has failed to allow me to start my explorer. Does anyone have instructions for installing and programming a new PATS transceiver for a 2002 Ford explorer XLT? Maybe it's plug and play IDK.

What else did you try?

Spare key maybe?

If the key is bad you may be able to use the spare.

Did you get a new key made?

There is no work around if the PATS unit has to be reprogrammed. Replacing it won't help.

If it would, thieves would be steal'n em and replacing the unit.

If It needs reprogramming you MUST go to a dealer. Sorry no other option.

It's a really good anti theft system. With this one drawback.

A drawback that makes it impossible to defeat the security by tampering.

The "tampering" you have done trying to fix it has probably put the PCM in permanent "NO START" mode.

The dealer will have to reset the PCM and reprogram the PATS

Probably gonna run ya $300
