Let me preface this thread by saying I really don't know much of anything about trucks so please forgive me....

I have the stock wheels & tires on my 2004 Explorer XLT... Going to be time to replace the tires soon and I want to buy 20" rims and new tires at the same time... I've decided which wheels I want...

Panther Vector 519 (need help selecting the correct one for my truck please)

Basically I was searching Explorers on Cardomain.com for ideas for wheels and I fell in love with these... Here's some pictures on a 2004 silver Explorer:

Anyhow, the bolt pattern listed on the Panther Wheels website says 20x9.0.... I know the bolt pattern on the Explorer is 20x8.5... Will these wheels fit on my truck??? If not, what type of alterations do I need to make to make them fit?

Thanks for your help....

The bolt pattern is different then the rim size.... 20x9.0 and 20x8.5 is a rim size. Explample a 20x9.0 rim will be 20" in diameter and 9" wide.

A bolt pattern will look something like this 5x4.5 or 5x114.3 that is referring to the lugs...

Now I am not sure what kind of backspacing and offset you would need with a 20x9.0 rim, to make it fit on a 04 so I will let somebody else handle that generation and I am sure somebody knows.

NP, Don't worry about it...thats what this site is here for, we are here to help out...

20x9 is the size of wheel, not bolt pattern. 20 is the diameter of wheel and 9 is the width. if your current rim is 8.5 wide and new ones are 9, then ya it should fit, considering its only half an inch wider, someone with more knowledge should chime in pretty soon, you will have to get a rim with the correct backspacing and offset....

Tire swap

Can anyone tell me if the stock 17's from a 2004 exploder xlt will be a straight fit for a 93 exploder xlt?
Cheers.
