They never asked and they took it for inspection test drive etc...

Nice!!!

So what was the deciding factor, Rick? Don't tell me it was us! We were all just kidding about the Mach 1. We really wanted you to get the Subaru, you know.

Ha! You got it! Congratulations guys, drive it in good health.

Rick- When we traded my wife's beetle it was smoking, the check engine light was on, and the starter ground every time it was started. They didn't say a word, gave me KBB for it. My guess is they're still so popular in the used market that dealerships really don't care what condition they're in. I watched the dealership for a couple weeks afterwards and once it was put on the lot it was sold within 2-3 days. Someone else's problem now LOL.

Stephen, they might not have cared because most of them can have the problems fixed for next to nothing and they will still make a little profit once they sell it, plus if it doesnt sell at their dealership they will just move it on down the road to another lesser used car dealer and get whatever they can for it.

I need a GTI :(
I am looking to build a 91-92 GTI or possibly a Corrado :)
But then I also need a tow rig...decisions decisions, maybe I should start a poll? :)

That's my project for today. Making room for both vehicles in the garage :D

At least you don't have to worry about the Pumpkins doors hitting the Stang :D:D:D

Yeah, but wouldn't low 11s be more fun

Why do I get the feeling Rick will be "borrowing" this car more than the TDI???;)

ARE YOU KIDDING??
I know how that goes. She takes one look at what I have done to the truck ( in this case Char looks over at Pumkin) and then looks over at her shiney new car and thats the last time you think about doing and "mods" to her car.

Lesseee He is in the garage 1/3 of all his spare time fixing somthing that broke because he installed it. He wants to install something on my shiny new car = 2/3 of his time, no car to drive, and broken.

hahahaha I had to explain for 1.5 hours why the new brake pads were better then the old brake pads even though they didnt have the $200 brake pad wear indicator built in. And how I could simply "jump" the wire so the brake light iindicator does not come on. I also had to explain how I am fully capable of installing brake pads without them then needing further service anytime soon :)

Hahahaha so now I am looking for my own GTI..... Maybe Char is different but somehow I doubt it :) hahaha

"Rick, put the supercharger DOWN!" hahahaha

Hmm, you just don't know Char too well :D

Here's the scoop. The Dodge Ram is hers, the Mustang is mine... It's weird, but that's the way it turned out. A few years ago we decided we needed to trailer the Explorer to the trails that meant we needed a truck and a trailer.

I somehow convinced Char to trade her '94 Camaro for a '01 Dodge Ram, Cummins. It took some doing, but I convinced her :D At the time she was driving 80 miles per day for work so it just made sense that I drive the truck around town and she would drive the VW. She never liked the VW. That was my car that I bought as an economical yet fun daily driver. She never let me forget about how much she missed her Camaro.

Fast forward... the VW became unrealiable and a PITA so it was time for me to get a new car, but instead of buying a car for my needs, we bought one for Char's needs.

As you can see by Char's taste in cars she has the need for speed. Char really has no problem seeing a supercharger in our future :D In fact, had the new Dodge Magnum with it's 450HP Hemi been available she probably would have bought that. That car is all she's been talking about since we saw one being driven by Chrysler engineers in Northern Arizona.

There's a new monster on the Thunderbird scene ;)

Awesome!! A muscle car girl at heart then, see knowing that the STI wouldn't have had a chance.
I don't know Char too well but I know Allison! hahaha

Nice MUSTANG Rick! That's sweet!!
Congrats.

The GTI is also mine but that doesn't matter, we got it for Allison:) I know Neuspeed makes a wicked sc for the Vr6, she has expressed intrest in an SUV so maybe I will get my hands on that car :)
But like you, I then need a semi to haul them all around!!

$$$$$$$$$$
Dont let work become your life..

OMG OMG OMG!!!!

I haven't been able to wipe the smile off my face for the past three days. This car is the most fun I've had on the street in years.

Today we ran it up Yarnell hill which is just outside of Wickenburg, AZ. Lots of twisty turns. It's 2 lanes going up and 1 lane going down. No traffic meant we could "let er rip". Once on the mountain I never shifted out of third gear. It was the perfect gear for accelerating hard out of the turns and keeping a real nice momentum. DAMN, planting the throttle on the straight-a-ways netted 110+ in seconds. We're still "babying" her giving just short bursts of hi revs and the letting it settle back down and cool off.

I imagine it will only get quicker as it loosens up, that's hard to imagine :D I just wish we could afford 2. One to drive and one to stick in a crate for 30 years!!

:D :bounce: :D

Rick,

Do you plan on taking it down to Firebird and try it out on the road course? There are NASA events there at least once a month.

You know....

My dad had a '69 Mach 1 and he loved it until it got sandwiched in between two bobtails.:( But, about 2 years ago when the '03 Mach 1 was still a few months before release we went to a Ford driving thing. Called "the Experience" They had a off road corse and you could drive all the new trucks on it. Anyway, they had a Mach 1 you could sit in. So my dad sits in it and starts to rember his old '69. Then the Ford guy reachs in and hands him the keys to start it:eek: That thing was so awsome and now you can own one.

Rick my next car will be a Mustang! I don't know when but my wife and I both want one, and even got her sold on a Stick. (she dosn't know how to drive) I told her there is no point in owning a Auto GT or Mach 1. It's just wrong!

Yep, gotta have a stick Stic-o :D

Go with the stang. It has more power to begin with and aslo a huge aftermarket. A friend of mine has a 97 stang with 4.10 gears, no cat h-pipe, the newer heads, and a agressive cam. It has roughly 300 hp at the crank and runs 155mph. Its defently a fun car to have. The stang will defently sound better (exhaust wise).
