Hi!
My mom has a 2008 V6 2WD Explorer (121,000 mi) with the 5R55S transmission (Trans code "V" on the door sticker). She bought it brand new, and has had all maintenance performed per the owner's manual. She told me that recently the 1-2 shift has become "clunky" and takes longer than usual to make the shift. She's about to take it to the transmission shop to have the trans serviced and I told her about the known issues I've read about on here with the 5r55s. The last time she took it to this transmission shop (it was having issues back then too), they reflashed the ECU and told her it would eliminate the problem (which it didn't). I'm thinking this particular transmission shop isn't aware of the known issues with the solenoid body/solenoid body harness connector or the overdrive & intermediate servos. Is there something I can e-mail to her that she can show the transmission shop that details the issues with the 5r55s? Like maybe a TSB or something along those lines. I'd like to install the re-designed servos myself from http://www.fordservoboretransmissionfixsolution.com/ but I live too far away. Am I on the right track with this?
Mainly I'm just looking for some documentation that she can show the transmission shop, since I don't believe they are going to figure this out otherwise.
