2016 Platinum Late Production?

I saw that before. I forgot how I got there but there seem to be some inconsistencies on that specific page. If you look at the photos of the Platinum, you'll notice there are some anomalies in the interior photo. Check out the center stack. I think that is a part of the Ford website that has not been completed?

You can from that link also if you select crossovers from the top of the page, then choose Explorer and build and price.

Odd, I never knew that the dealers aren't open on Sunday, now I'm even more upset I didn't make it there. I was actually waiting for a call back from the salesman before heading there because when I spoke to him earlier in the day he said he was super busy with other customers and would call me when he had some time to sit down and put the order in.

Many Dealers are open on Sunday, some states just have laws that prohibit them being open.

I stand corrected. I guess here in Illinois, we have embargo's on dealerships like we do on many other things!

I see some of you are starting to get your VIN's. I placed my Platinum order two weeks ago and I'm still waiting. Dealer is telling me that it will be late Sept/October for delivery. Keeping fingers crossed.

This is why I'm reluctant to place a special order. When I spoke to the dealership a week ago, they told me that it would be an 8-12 week wait. There's really no point in doing a special order, in my opinion, when we know they will start hitting showrooms in about 3-4 weeks (They started building them yesterday). And since the Platinum comes fully loaded with very few options (except for exterior color), it makes it easier to buy dealer stock.

Agree if you are satisfied with options (or lack of) that are in it for dealer inventory. I added every option except for the cross bars. I rarely see the dual DVD installed as a factory option and also wanted the rear buckets with console.

I did ask the dealer what they had coming in and when I asked for those two specific options the response was immediate to special order. Also, the dealer said everyone is on allocation for the Platinum models and do not know what they will receive with options yet. This also forces us down the special order path to get what we want.

I received Good news today. Was informed my 2016 platinum explorer is in production with an ETA around Aug. 21. Great news on my 43rd weeding anniversary anniversary.

Window sticker

I found my window sticker thanks to info supplied by JDraper. Is the date 7/23/15 the build date.

I had the same question as Blueflame16? My sticker has 7/21/16 amongst those code numbers at the bottom. Is that the build date? Hoping my delivery will be fast since I'm 40 minutes from factory. Thinking about driving by to look for it on Ramp C106 to quench this fever I got
