Also, for anyone wondering, the ceramic leather is verrrry light. I think the black white contrast is fantastic. I would have liked a bit more wood throughout the console, but im very happy.

Thanks for the pics and comment. Is your color Ruby Red or Bronze Fire? I can't be sure with the room lights or my screen.

That's ruby red. I went back and forth on which one to order but I'm glad I went with this color.

Congrats! She's a beauty! Keep us posted with some detailed feedback when you've had some time to spend more time with her.

Can you confirm if your fog lamps are LED?

I have a 2015 Lincoln with the same interior, the near white seats and black dash. It really looks sharp.

Late June I ordered the Explorer Platinum in Ruby Red like the one pictured above. I do not have a vin number yet but I think this part of the country won't get their orders til late September. Not replacing the Lincoln. That's the wife's car. She loves it...

Getting anxious/jealous seeing that they are starting to deliver.

I placed my order mid-July, received my VIN 3 weeks later and I followed up with the kind Ford Customer Service people here on this forum. The scheduled build date is to start September 14th. Based on all the comments here it will take a month to build, bringing it to mid-October then delivery which would bring it to mid-November before I see it.

Sure hope its sooner but I guess its something we are all dealing with.

Also, out of curiosity, are the interior lights on the Platinum still a normal bulb, or are they also LED?

According to the Owner's Guide, the only interior lights that are LED and the rear dome lamp and the luggage compartment lamp.

Somewhere in all the documentation I have read awaiting delivery of my Platinum, it said the ambient lighting was adjustable to 4 or 5 different colors to suit your mood. I believe that requires LEDs to change color.

This is the kind of interior lighting my 2015 Lincoln MKC has... Very sure it is LED. Very neat colors to choose from We choose purple... Wiffee did LOL

It takes less then 24 hours for an Explorer to be built, not a month.

I was laughing so hard when I saw that I was waiting for someone to jump in......

Ya, reread it twice before posting and then read it a 3rd time after just to make sure I was reading that correctly lol.

It's all good though..

My dealer called today to say my order has finally been submitted and that I have an "unscheduled clean" status. I ordered the Guard color, hopefully have a VIN pretty soon.

Thanks, but I should've specified, I am not asking about the ambient lighting, but the interior/overhead lighting. I know that none of the other trims have LED interior lighting so the chances are low. Currently debating between a 16 Explorer Platinum and a 16 Lincoln MKX, and I like the LED interior lights on the Lincoln's.
